Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment as part of various Star Wars celebrations last week at Anaheim, this duo explained how Kilmer would play a role in the 1988 film TV sequel, directed by Ron Howard and produced by George Lucas.

“Val is a big part of this, and the first conversation that I did, when Warwick and I got the green light to do this, was with Val,” Kasdan said. “We want the character to be part of the story. We want him to be in the show. ”

The Top Gun: Maverick Star described the deuterragonist of the film, Madmartigan, a humiliated Knight who met with Davis’ Willow Ufgood and finally helped him protect the baby who was destined to end the evil rules of Sorceress Bavmorda, nicknamed the Queen of the Devil.

Kasdan noted that the actor could not make a film with the show, but promised he was involved “in a big way.”

“Because we shot during [Covid-19] locks, he could not come to Wales and shoot with us. But he was in a massive show. And we are very happy about that, “said the executive producer.” Madmartigan lives. ”

During the Star Wars celebration panel the show on Thursday, according to a comic book, Kasdan outlines a little more about how the Kilmer character will be in this series.

“Val has communicated with Joann [Whalley] and I and Madmartigan are characters in the story and what we cannot shoot with him in season 1, we have made him the main character in the story,” he said.

Speaking to Yahoo, Davis called his co -star Willow “A Great Guy,” and shared that Kilmer “The spirit is very much with this series.”

“I still connect me to pass the film with Val. He keeps my enthusiasm when his condition is really dangerous and difficult. I was cold, wet, tired. He made me laugh, keeping everything fun. ”

On Thursday, Disney debut the first trailer for the TV sequel, set 20 years after the original film. Davis returned to the titular role, with Ellie Bamber, Erin Kellyman, Tony Revolori and Cailee Spaeny joined the franchise as a prominent member.
